The Potten Computer
School syllabus for primary and secondary is designed to
encourage pupils to develop their computer skills
creatively. Support for school work and exams is also
offered.
• build a website
• present a fashion show
• touch-type
• design a T-shirt
• design a CD cover
• explore our world and travel into space
• travel back in time and rediscover our history
• compile an audio storybook
• publish a newsletter
• build a slide show
… and this is only the beginning.
We teach all levels through a series of
self-contained modules covering the following core computer
skills:
• touch-typing and keyboard skills
• word processing (Microsoft Word)
• spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel)
• databases (Microsoft Access)
• multimedia presentations (Microsoft PowerPoint)
• clipart and graphics
• e-mails and the Internet
• web design & desktop publishing
• digital photography
The comprehensive, thematic, project-based modules help to
reinforce learning in other school subjects. They are fun,
and actively engage pupils, encouraging them to be creative
and use their imagination. Lessons build up from simpler to
more challenging tasks. In this way pupils’ confidence
grows. Pupils are awarded a printed certificate on
completion of each module.
We use a large variety of educational software, chosen to
ensure that the pupils enjoy their sessions and learn as
much as possible.
