The Potten Computer School courses for adults and silver surfers are comprehensive, fun and actively engaging. Lessons build up from simpler to more challenging tasks to promote your confidence. We use a large cross-section of computer software to make sure you enjoy your sessions and learn as much as possible.
Group size
There are never more than 3 students in the centre at any one time. You can choose to work alone or in small groups, which means you benefit from maximum teacher time.
Course structure
Our courses are tailor-made for you, depending on your needs. We teach all levels through a series of self-contained modules covering the following core computer skills:
- touch-typing and keyboard skills
- word processing (Microsoft Word)
- spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel)
- databases (Microsoft Access)
- multimedia presentations (Microsoft PowerPoint)
- clipart and graphics
- e-mails and the Internet
- web design & desktop publishing
- digital photography
Qualifications
We also offer specialised teaching in the following IT qualifications:
- ECDL (the European Computer Driving Licence)
- SQA PC Passport
- CLAIT (Computer Literacy and Information Technology) 2006 -
- Oxford/Cambridge/ RSA
Apart from providing new computer skills and increased computer confidence, all three qualifications are recognised by employers.
